Growing Microgreens in the MicroQuad

Growing Microgreens in the MicroQuad

The following process is designed to achieve consistent results with high germination rates and maximum yield.

Germination/Blackout phase: This phase lasts 4 days and helps to ensure high germination rates with an even growth canopy.

  • Day 1: Plant Seeds in Grow Trays and ensure drench with Mist Bottle and add another grow tray on top with a 8-12 oz weight and move it to somewhere with no or low light
  • Day 2: Remove the weight tray and mist with water to ensure seeds get fully drenched then add weight tray and move back to the dark
  • Day 3: By this time most of the seeds should be grabbing onto the grow medium, when this happens you can switch to watering by placing the grow tray into a Prep tray full of water for 1 minute then add weight tray and move back to the dark

  • Day 4: Remove weight tray and soak in Prep tray full of water then put a grow tray on top but no weight

Growth phase: Once the microgreens are transferred to the MicroQuad they are on autopilot with auto watering and lighting growth phase until ready for harvest. Just make sure to change out the water every week.

  • Day 5: Move the grow trays into the MicroQuad
  • Day 6 - 8+: Harvest the grow trays when they are ready
